Blackstone Court is situated on The Black River Road in Pottersville, New Jersey ; a part of Bedminster, New Jersey. It consists of five wooded acres along the Black River/ Lamington River.
Beto and Craig have filled their home with art, antiques and landscaping with native plants indengious to the area. It is filled with much love, hard work and dedication. It is also the home of two very spoiled dachshunds, Spike and Bryon.
Originally, the property consisted of 14 acres owned by Dr. William M. McKassick and his wife Margaret. He was a prominent Doctor of the areas of Peapack/Gladstone and Pluckemin. He was also a Colonel in the Civil war and founder of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.
The property was mostly land then back in 1803 and Black River Road was Pottersville Road and it was not paved as it is today .
The original house was built on the Black River but was washed away from a flood in 1836. The house that stands today with a small sheep barn was built somewhere around 1890 and sits high up from the river on Black River Road in a foundation of stone hauled by mule from the Black River. Floors are wide plank wood pine and stained “pumpkin pine“
